Key Personnel

Al Clay
Al Clay has over 30 years experience in the financing and development of commercial real estate. He graduated from Texas A&M in 1965 with an accounting degree and went on to the University of Texas to earn a Masters of Business Administration and later, his CPA designation. After five years in public accounting, and a 3 year run with Somerblink-Goldman, he started C-3 Realty Services to focus on commercial real estate and financial brokerage. While at C-3 he has brokered over $130 million in commercial loans, participated in 28 separate real estate sales totaling over $110 million. Al's key role at Clay is to oversee all financial matters pertaining to the organization.  


   
 Robert Clay
Robert Clay has been in real estate since his graduation from Texas A&M in 1989. He began his career with United Equities, Inc., a medium sized industrial and retail firm in Houston, focusing on construction supervision, property management and leasing. After four years at United Equities he moved on to Moody Rambin Interests, Inc. where his attentions were directed to project leasing and construction supervision. Robert’s key role at Clay is business development, project negotiation and project bidding.
 
   

 Dee Sullivan
Dee Sullivan, III, General Counsel joined Clay in early 2007. Prior to joining Clay, he was a senior partner with the Nathan Sommers law firm in Houston, Texas, representing both local and national real estate developers in all aspects of commercial real estate, including acquisition, development, financing, leasing and partnership matters. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Finance, and the University of Houston Law Center, where he was an Associate Editor of the Houston Law Review. Dee’s primary role at Clay is to coordinate its legal affairs and to participate in all aspects of new projects including land acquisition, structuring of ownership/development entities, development issues, leasing and construction and permanent financing for projects.


   

 Danny Martin
Danny Martin, PE graduated from the University of New Brunswick (Canada) with a BA in Engineering in 1994. Before joining Clay as Civil Engineer, Danny worked with several major civil firms in Houston. Danny has over 14 years experience in the engineering of industrial and retail projects in the Houston area.

 
   

 Bryan Christ
Bryan Christ, field Construction Manager for CDC, has over 21 years experience in the construction business. Prior to joining Clay, he worked as a Construction Supervisor and Project Manager for Williams Industries for over sixteen (16) years. Bryan has worked on projects as varied as University of Houston’s Alumni and Athletic Facility, regional retail centers, Water Street Seafood Restaurant, major industrial and distribution centers, and metal buildings as small as 10,000 square feet. Bryan’s key role at Clay is to manage the day-to-day field construction.

 
   

 Charlie Christ
Charlie Christ joined Clay in early 2007 with over 14 years of real estate experience. He began his career with United Equities Inc., focusing on construction supervision, leasing and development. After 6 years at United Equities, Charlie joined Boyd Page as a tenant rep broker for retailers such as CVS, 99 cent Only, and Children’s Learning Adventure. He also worked with developers including Crosswell Greenwood and Kimco leasing new projects as well as existing properties in their portfolio. Charlie’s role at Clay is to coordinate construction with clients as well as business development, project negotiations, and project bidding.

 
   

 Larry Strutton
Larry Strutton, PE is a registered structural engineer with over 6 years experience in structural engineering. Prior to joining Clay, Larry worked with major structural firms in Houston including Alliance Structural Engineering and Haynes Whaley Associates. His duties included foundation, pier, and tilt panel design. Larry graduated from Texas A&M University in 1996 with a BS in Engineering. Larry’s role is that of Structural Engineer.

 

 Mark Hayes
Mark Hayes, Project Coordinator for CDC, has over 20 years of construction and project management experience. Prior to joining Clay, he worked for Amistad Construction, Williams Industries and several other general contractors in the Houston area. Mark has built retail centers, tilt-wall warehouses, car dealerships, government facilities, medical facilities and tenant renovations. He has worked on projects ranging from 10,000-900,000 square feet, which includes Russell & Smith Ford, Bobby Ford Honda, Walgreens, Café Express, Methodist Hospital and numerous industrial projects.


   

 David McLaughlin
David McLaughlin joined Clay Development as a Project Manager in 2007. David holds a Bachelors of Business Administration from Baylor University and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Houston at Victoria. Prior to joining Clay, he worked as a project manager first for a large Houston general contracting company and then for a local general contractor/development firm. David has experience developing and building retail, educational, medical, industrial and office facilities.

 
   

 Michael Hayes
Michael Hayes, P.E., graduated from the University of Houston in 1996 with a BS in Civil Engineering and is a registered professional engineer in both the state of Texas and the State of Louisiana. Michael has more than nine years of engineering and construction experience within the public and private sectors. Highlights of his diverse portfolio include: light commercial development design, lab facility design, aircraft maintenance hangar design and industrial/warehouse developments. His engineering services have been utilized by clients such as Chevron, Southwest Research, Boeing and the United States of Energy Strategic Petroleum Reserve Sites. In addition, Michael has more than four years of experience working with governmental entities, including the Cities of Houston, La Porte, Stafford, Harris County, METRO, and TxDOT.

 
   

 Pat Radigan
Pat is a 1997 graduate of ITT Institute of Houston with a Associate Degree in Computer Aided Drafting and Design. He has 10 years experience in civil drafting ranging from generating plan & profiles, cross sections and traffic control plans for major roadway reconstruction, platting subdivisions and retail site plans, designing utilities (water, sanitary & storm sewers) and site layouts for several companies in the Houston area.

 
   
  Elizabeth Coronado
Elizabeth A. Coronado, LEED AP Architectural Designer for CDC. She has her Bachelor of Architecture from University of Houston. She joined the Clay team by way of WGW Architects in Houston. Elizabeth has also worked for five years with Kirksey in Houston, as a project manager/coordinator for their Special Use team doing industrial and clean lab designs. She is currently taking the Architectural Registration Exam with an expected completion date of October 2008.
 
   

Carla R. Haramboure, AIA
Carla is a licensed architect in the state of Texas and a graduate of the University of Houston with a Masters of Architecture. Before joining the architecture team at Clay Development in 2007, she worked at Urban Architecture and Innovation Design Consulting on a variety of projects ranging from industrial to residential design as well as commercial and institutional.

 
   

 Patricia Huizar
Patricia Huizar has been with Clay since 2004.  She is in charge of all office administrative duties.

   

Dennis J. McGinnis
Controller. Joined Clay in 2009. Mr. McGinnis began his career as an auditor in the Houston office of Arthur Andersen & Company serving clients in a wide range of industries. For the past 20 years Mr. McGinnis has been involved exclusively in the Houston real estate industry gaining experience in acquisitions, development and property management in commercial, industrial and multi-family environments. During most of the 1990’s, Mr. McGinnis was the Controller for the Houston operation of Drever Partners, Inc., a large investment fund that accumulated approximately 20,000 apartment units valued at nearly $500 million. Mr. McGinnis has worked as financial director and CFO for other successful Houston developers such as Levcor, Inc. and Crosswell Greenwood Commercial Development. Mr. McGinnis carries a BBA from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas and is a Certified Public Accountant.
